AMC "Mad Men" Finale! Absolutely the best Finale I've ever seen!!
Remember May 18, 2015....... Mad Men has left the Building..
Remember the day that one of the best written, acted, costumed, and staged shows in history came to a fabulously and totally satisfying end!! I sat at the edge of the couch cushion and watched every moment with bated breath. I laughed, I cried, I enjoyed EVERY moment!
Peggy Olson
First I loved Madmen because I could tune in and look into Don Drapers sexy and conflicted eyes. Then I stayed to watch the ever evolving characters come to life. Peggy came out of her shell and at the encouragement and tutelage of Don, as well as being snatched from the abyss of madness, became the formidable copywriter she was destined to be. It was a pleasant surprise that peggy should realize she loved her writing partner in crime Stan Rizzo, and they should fall into each others arms with loves first kiss, fulfilled the little princess trapped in her tower in me.
Roger Sterling
Roger never failed to bring the comic relief and levity to any serious conversation and situation. He helped me stay in touch with my inner self-indulgent child, and I love that he after all his attempts to recapture his youth, in the end he found his soulmate to be a mature woman of a certain age.
Joan Holloway
Thank god for her character, because of her voluptuous curves, it finally became okay to be curvy and sexy, though her characters journey to be taken seriously for her intelligence, and valued for more than her décolletage was lengthy it was never a doubt that Joan would end up on top and the end whets our appetites for whats next in this formidable woman that does it alls future.
Betty Draper (Birdie)
Betty was always aloof and distant, it was as if she was a stepford wife that lived her life as it was expected and many women did, and after finally waking up from her trance and endeavoring to realize her dreams, only to have her future again decided for her by her fatal disease. The way she took charge of her impending death and faced it on her terms made me respect and love her, as well as lament her fate.
Pete Campbell
It was a revelation that Pete should finally be recognized for his ad man prowess and get the compensation and promotion he so richly deserved, he finally surpassed the success of his family name and had his moment in the sun! That he should come to his senses and realize that it would mean nothing without housewife and child to share it with gave us hope for second chance.
Finally Don Draper..
He was finally able to lay to rest the ghost of Dick Whitman, and realize that like Dorothy he was Home all along. The way they eluded to the fact that the holistic and Nomad journey that Don took resulted in his best and most perfect work ever, one of the best and most memorable ad campaigns in history.. Coca Cola
"I'd like to teach the world to sing in perfect harmony, I'd like to buy the world a Coke and keep it company"
Thank you AMC, Matthew Weiner, Maria JacqueMetton and all contributors thank you for giving me great television that filled all my senses and fulfilled all my hopes and dreams of quality television.
