Relocating to NOLA or Bust!! I would"nt trade nothing for the journey!



Good Morning ,
Growing up on 67th & Carpenter I had many role models and learned the value in each persons role and to respect their endeavors at excellence. I watched some mothers stay at home and care for the house and raise the children while the father went to work,Mrs. Hill buying all that food and milk at Hillmans Grocery Store on 63rd. Mrs. Veal taking care of her home, Mrs. Keenon going to work, Mrs.Payne and Mrs.Wilks, and Mrs. Lingo sending their kids out with full bellies and ready for school. Mrs. Myers,Mrs. Marshall, Mrs.Scott. Mrs. Jett, Daisy, Mrs. Lester being single Moms working hard to feed and raise their families, some were widows some left men to raise their children alone becaiuse that was best for them and I respect that much more now that I know how truly hard that is. Especially the moms with 5 or more kids I pray for strength and patience daily with 2 kids I don't know how the heck they did it with more! Cooking delicious and nutritious meals and baked good , while also working full time jobs! They were truly SUPER women. I respect and revere them more and more as I endeavor to raise my 2.
I've learned a lot that I never knew during my journey.How hard it is to raise a special needs child with the deficiencies and inadequacies of the Chicago Educational system, how you have to be an advocate for your child and fight to get people to simply do their jobs correctly so your child is okay. How your health can take a turn and take you down the road less traveled and infinitely more difficult to follow. But throughout my journey God has been watching over me and blessing me, so I wouldn't trade nothing for the journey. I am excited about the next chapter in my life and starting it in another state with new possibilities and new challenges, I know God is with me ... I love all of my friends old and new from Carpenter and my over 15 years as a Travel Agent, and my Family. I will miss you but I look forward to the next chapter in my life and this new road in my journey.. xoxoxo

I am pleasantly surprised daily by how much my 4 yr olds mind is growing, and how he is able to communicate his thoughts, feelings, emotions and also help me be in the moment sometimes when I lose my focus. My son speaks of himself in the 3rd person which is hilarious to me! Earlier he was busy playing with his Elmo vacuum and pretending to clean the floor, and when he was done he politely came to me and said "I need 4 dollars Mom". So I proceeded to count out 4 imaginary dollars in his hand. When I was done he looked at his hand, gave me a very frustrated look and stated " I need 4 GREEN dollars Mom from there!" and pointed at my wallet on my dresser!! I knew then this is the start of me being broke!! Each day he says something to me that to me seems far too wise for his years, and really catches me off guard and make me realize NEVER underestimate the intelligence of a child and what they understand. How to overcome Problems putting an Autistic child to sleep naturally

PUTTING YOUR AUTISTIC CHILD TO SLEEP SO YOU CAN REST!! When my son was younger he would only sleep 8 hours at a time, and it was particularly difficult to get him to wind down.  He would run around from room to room disturbing the neighbors and everyone elses sleep as well.
